Hale Kuikahi

My family spent a wonderful week at this spotless, comfortable home. It has wide open views from most rooms and has been thoughtfully furnished for visitors. The house was spotless when we arrived—so spotless I wondered if we were the first visitors (we were not). I wish the description of the house included all of the items that were provided so I wouldn’t have packed them—beach towels, beach chairs, gas bbq, beach cooler, yoga mats, straw beach mats, binoculars, first aid kit, umbrellas, etc. We were particularly pleased to be able to use AC in some bedrooms and not in others (just ceiling fans). Everyone was happy. The garden was lovely—we made leis with flowers from the trees and enjoyed following the path and seeing the changes during our stay. Our favorite activity was to stand on the lanai and watch the changes in the ocean each day, including the sunrise, surf, passing ships, and a couple of whales. A perfect place to enjoy a relaxing week. Also, thanks for the tip to do our grocery shopping at KTA.

Our group of 3 couples thoroughly loved our time there. The deck was so relaxing. And the furniture is very comfortable. The A/C was in perfect working order. We felt very secure, as well. Everything was spotless in this large house, as well.

The only things that could be improved upon: in the original description, I would have appreciated knowing that there was a king bedroom without a bathroom attached/next door...would have been more economical for the host also. Also, I feel like more bath linens should be available. 5 washcloths for 6 people is simply not enough...and it requires daily laundry with small loads, that would be better time spent out exploring the island.

This is a fantastic property that met all my expectation. If you are interested in uninterrupted relaxation, this is the property for you. The first thing to notice is how clean everything was upon arrival. All of the ocean facing windows were spot free when we arrived. This is very hard to achieve with a coastal property such as this. The sounds of the ocean will transport you day and night. I spent hours sitting on that deck hearing, feeling, and seeing the wonders of the Pacific Ocean beat against the cliff that this place is perched upon. I still hear and feel the ocean a few days after leaving. All up front correspondence was in order with directions and property instructions. Property access was easy and simple. The kitchen is state of the art and previous guests, along with our group have left a few thing that will make future guests life a little easier. The property did lack outdoor seating on the deck. There are two chairs for a home that accommodates 10-12 people. There were only four in my party and we donated four beach chairs and their cases and left them in the laundry room storage cabinets. There is also an outdoor grill. When i asked i was told there was not a grill on the property. Knowing would have changed some of my preliminary shopping at the Kona Costco. There was a local contact that checked in on the day we arrived via text. I know Hilo which gave me an advantage for places to visit and eat. Ken's House of Pancakes, is a must along with Cafe Pesto, Jackie Rey's, Hawaiian Style Cafe and Pineapples. Make sure to Visit the Big Island Candie Company to send those special treats back to your loved ones that couldn't make it. The Botanical Gardens and Akaka Falls are a short distance away and very beautiful. I would recommend this place to every one, and have! Mahalo!

We thoroughly enjoyed every minute at Hale KuiKahi. It was wonderful to vacation in this beautiful home with dramatic,sweeping oceanfront on one side and a beautiful rain forest on the other. Our group was really looking for a get-away in the truest sense. So much peace and beauty here. Home was very clean, well-appointed and easy to get to from Hilo. We loved it and would return!

Great experience here, lives up to the pictures. The A/C was really nice on hot days. Staff was really communicative and available, helpful getting us set up with a crib and high chair
